i want to know how you keep the depth of the sky in the pics without loosing the foreground when its getting dark

Also wanted to ask if the extender rings for your lens really are good for macro shots, as they claim to be

when using the right it does!
I'm not using any rings on my camera now, but I used to on my parent's '70s olympus.
What these rings do is bringing the focus point
(the sharp field) closer to the lens, a bigger ring will bring the focus point closer to the camera.
note that there rings are like empty tubes placed between the camera and the lens.disadvantages are that placing the rings takes time and big change of dirt in the camera.
also there rings waste some light so you will need more light to take a photo.
NOTE: when using the wrong rings autofocus and exposure might not work, it may also damage your camera!
